The release of the Impreza in 1992 started a revolution, not only for Subaru, but for performance cars, too.
This 1994 car is a highly desirable STI Version 1 and is 1 of just 654 Version 1 saloons produced (build no. 76 of 200 in the month of June ’94), and 1 of just 107 in black.
Presented in stunning condition, this STI is has survived 30 years and 165,000 kms in near-original spec save for a set of 17” Speedline wheels and a cat-back exhaust.
The interior is of the same impressive standard with the only deviations from stand spec being a set of 3 sought-after Lamco ancillary gauges, a Veilside gear knob, Levoc pedals and a turbotimer.
Mechanically, the car wants for nothing having just had a timing belt replacement, new brake callipers, discs and pads all around, plus a new Exedy clutch kit fitted, too.
The overall result is a very handsome and impressive car to drive that still feels fresh and ready to tackle any backroad you can throw at it.
Early unmolested Impreza STIs are enjoying a revival at the moment and this stunning example will not disappoint.
