Jaguar XJ Sovereign (XJ40)

The original low-slung silhouette of the XJ is becoming a rare sight on the roads, and this Jaguar XJ Sovereign (XJ40) is a beautiful reminder of just what we’re missing.

This 1990 example in Solent Blue is presented in superb condition and covered a mere 41,500 miles in its 34 years of existence.

The sublime interior features Doeskin leather with navy blue piping and, being a Sovereign, boasts many upgrades including air conditioning, electric seats, 6-speaker sound system, rear self-levelling suspension, ABS and burl walnut trim.

More recent upgrades include a brand new headliner and the addition of a new Blaupunkt Bremen unit which provides discreet Bluetooth and USB charging.

Another feather in the cap of this XJ is the powerplant which is the much celebrated 4.0 straight-6 which is a massive improvement over the 3.6 unit. As you would expect, given its low mileage, it performs beautifully and provides an incredibly refined driving experience thanks to its increased power.

A large history file accompanies the car and major service has just been carried out including a new oil cooler.

This is a beautiful example of a Jaguar icon that still provides one of the most refined driving experiences available.
