There are Ferraris that shout for attention, and there are Ferraris that quietly make a compelling case as one of the smartest buys in the marque’s history.
The Mondial T is firmly in the latter category. Finished in the iconic combination of Rosso Corsa over Crema leather, this beautiful 1989 example is one of just 45 right-hand-drive Mondial T Coupes produced and is believed to be the first UK-supplied, UK-spec Mondial T delivered. With just 56,000 miles from new and an extraordinary history file, it represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of Ferrari’s most underrated modern classics.
Powered by the 3.4-litre longitudinally mounted V8 producing 300bhp and paired with the Formula One-inspired transverse gearbox arrangement, the Mondial T was the most advanced and desirable evolution of the Mondial range. It combines genuine Ferrari performance with something few Ferraris can offer – practicality, usability and four seats. This particular car has clearly been cherished throughout its life.
Accompanying the car are two substantial history binders containing extensive invoices, previous MOT certificates, original books, workshop manuals and a documented record of maintenance stretching back decades. Most importantly, a full major service including timing belts was carried out in 2024, with invoices present. In addition, approximately €9,000 was invested in paintwork during 2024, ensuring the car presents exceptionally well today.
The Rosso Corsa paintwork has a deep, rich finish and is beautifully complemented by the wonderfully preserved Crema leather interior. The specification includes a Thatcham-approved immobiliser, Ferrari indoor car cover, two sets of keys and immobiliser fobs, along with a vast collection of supporting documentation.
On the road, this Mondial T is exactly as a well-maintained Ferrari should be. It starts instantly, performs flawlessly and drives superbly. Despite covering very few miles in recent years, it has been meticulously maintained, regularly exercised and carefully stored. The result is a car that feels tight, responsive and ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian. For many years the Mondial lived in the shadow of other V8 Ferraris.
Today, collectors are beginning to recognise just how special these cars are. With production numbers low, usability high and values still significantly behind comparable Ferraris, the Mondial T remains one of the best entry points into classic Ferrari ownership.
A rare, highly original and exceptionally well-documented example of one of Ferrari’s most undervalued models. Finding another right-hand-drive Mondial T of this quality will not be easy.
