Datsun S30 240 Z

The Nissan Fairlady Z, or Datsun 240Z as it was in Europe, is one of the most influential and beloved vehicles of the late 1960s and early 1970s and truly established Japanese automakers in foreign markets.

Presented here is a very hot 1973 original Japanese S30 Z having had a fully rebuilt L28 engine with a set of glorious Jenvey individual throttle bodies. A Z Story full stainless steel exhaust was also fitted and the car sounds nothing short of sensational. The build obviously didn’t stop there, either. The fuel system has a pro alloy 240Z fuel tank along with custom fuel lines and and fuel pumps plus an upgraded Mishimoto alloy radiator to help keep things cool.

The entire electric system has been converted to can-bus with brand new wiring harnesses and Maxx ECUs plus individual coil packs with custom leads, wide crank sensors and a modern lighting system for the outside of the car.

The interior presents beautifully too. The Recaro fishnet seats have been retrimmed in OEM style vinyl with Bride adjustable seat rails. The dash has been flocked and a Skillard centre console fitted. A new Momo Prototipo steering wheel has also been fitted with correct hub and a new gear surround to improve noise isolation in the cabin.

As for the body, brand new floor pans were fitted, the underbody was coated in raptor-style hard lining and the interior floor was resprayed. The door shuts were rust repaired and painted with new door hinges, brass pins and bushings replaced too. New seals were fitted throughout along with a heated windscreen and a full wrap in Datsun 918 Orange.

An amazing car that can be added to, or enjoyed as is, but something that will genuinely put a smile on your face every single time you drive her. With that amazing shape and the intake sound from those throttle bodies, it’s the perfect retro classic.
