Daimler XJ40

19,995.00

The original low-slung silhouette of the XJ is becoming a rare sight on the roads, and this Daimler XJ40 is a beautiful reminder of just what we’re missing.

This 1989 example in Bordeaux Red is rather special – not just because of its superb condition and attractive colour combination, but because this is, in fact, a pre-production press car that was used for the 1990 model year and is believed to be the very last remaining.

Featuring the revised and much-improved dashboard as well as Doeskin leather with red piping and red carpets, the interior of this XJ40 is sublime. There are rear picnic tables, sun blinds, sunroof, electric & heated seats plus a host of other Daimler refinements.

Being a press car, only the very best engine would do, also, and that comes in the form of the rare 4.0 straight-6 which has just 69k miles from new. Other upgrades include chrome side mouldings and Michelin 390 alloy wheels which have new tyres all around.

This 3 owner XJ40 (Jaguar listed as the first) is remarkable in its own right given its superb condition and specification, but is even more special given its historical significance.

Viewing strictly by appointment. All cars supplied with valid NCT where appropriate.
