Cool comes in many forms, but every now and then a car come along that epitomises the word…like this sublime 1973 Audi 100 Coupe S.
Believed to be 1 of only 10 RHD cars left on the road this Audi is not only rare, but impossibly cool and in incredible condition.
Delivered new to its first owner in Perth, Scotland, the car was imported to Ireland a number of years ago and has clearly had a pampered life.
Finished in Turquoise Metallic with a green interior, this 100 Coupe is the definition of “of its time” and is in largely original condition with all of its chrome and trim standing the test of time remarkably well.
The green half leather interior is a time-warp. All of the door panels, seats, headliner, wood trim and carpets are like new, with the only hint at the car’s very surprising mileage of 106k miles being the slightly mottled gear-knob. Admirably, the previous owners have resisted the urge to fit a radio to the car over its 51 years, also.
The 1.9 4-cylinder engine – sitting in that typical Audi forward position – is mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox and the car drives beautifully, thanks in part to a service and complete carb rebuild and tune-up just carried out in our workshop.
A recent complete underbody restoration was carried out, too, when the car was mare-metalled, treated and properly protected for complete peace of mind.
A huge history file accompanies the car including service books, receipts and the original bill of sale for £2684.65 on May 21st 1973. The original tool roll is present with the car, also.
A truly enchanting example of a rare piece of Audi history that wants for nothing.
Viewing strictly by appointment. All cars supplied with valid NCT where appropriate.
