Volkswagen Golf GTI Pirelli Edition

Harking back to the 80s and marking the end of production of the celebrated Mk5 GTI, VW and Pirelli partnered up once more to create the ultimate special edition.

This beautifully presented 2009 GTI Pirelli Edition in the ultra rare colour of Omni Yellow is one of just 222 ever built and has covered just 67,000 kms in the last 16 years.

To the casual observer, this may appear to be just regular GTI with a set of upgraded BBSwheels (and some additional colour-coded bodywork), but the subtle Pirelli badging on the boot lid tells the true story.

The interior is arguably the real centrepiece with those incredible tyre-tread pattern seats with yellow stitching, and yellow stitched leather steering wheel and shifter boot. The condition is of the same excellent standard as the exterior and a new headliner has just been fitted.

Pirelli and VW didn’t just make the changes skin deep either. The final upgrade comes in the form of a power boost of 30bhp bringing the total to an impressive figure of 227bhp which you definitely notice.

In addition to the Pirelli enhancements, the spec of this stunning Golf also includes part-electric and heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, Pioneer radio, and the legendary DSG auto/tiptronic gearbox.

Fresh from a major service, and having had a new timing belt 5k kms ago, this is a very impressive example of a true limited edition Volkswagen that strikes a perfect balance of practicality, comfort and real world performance.
