Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet

The S2 944, with its 3.0 engine, Turbo styling and revised gearbox, is the jewel in the 944 line up.

The release of the S2 also saw the introduction of the 944 Cabriolet, and this 1989 example which was first owned by English Rock & Roll star Chris Rea has an impressive spec and is in stunning condition.

The bodywork and Black LO41 paintwork are excellent, while the electric soft top is in perfect condition. The 16” design 90 alloys are flawless having been recently refurbished.

The black leather interior, with its electric seats, has aged very well, too, and offers top-down motoring for 4 people. The upgraded cup steering wheel (original included) is a welcome addition to the interior along with a retro looking Blaupunkt Bremen radio. 

Most noteworthy about the S2, however, is its unique 3.0 4-cylinder engine (the largest produced at the time) which is a more powerful evolution of the 2.5 found in the 944 S. The engine has covered 124k miles and still drives beautifully with a fantastic soundtrack, too.

The car has a large service history and has most recently been looked after and serviced by respected Porsche mechanic, Dave O’Brien from DOB Sports Cars, and is driving extremely well. 

944 S2 Cabriolets rarely come on the market in Ireland and this attractive and well maintained example is hard to beat. With the perfect colour combo of black over black, this original celebrity owned S2 is ready to drive home for Christmas.
