Peugeot 205 GTI

The Peugeot 205 GTI holds a very special place in the hot hatch world. In fact, it is arguably the greatest model of its species.

This lovely 1.6 example was imported from the UK in ’96 and subsequently supplied by Meegan Motors, and is a desirable non-cat, non-power steering, non-sunroof model in the best colour combination.

The exterior has been treated to a fresh coat of paint to a very high standard and the 14” Speedline wheels have been refurbished. The black and red trim is perfect, too.

Inside, the 1.6 specific full cloth interior is excellent and the seats don’t have the usual collapsed bolstering. The original red carpets have stood the test of time very well, also.

The car drives superbly. The legendary high reviving 1.6 engine pulls strongly and the steering provides the most amazing feedback. The 1.6 comes with a short ratio gearbox which entices you to stay in the power band. It is a pure driving experience.

Having just had a major service including new timing belt, suspension, brakes and various electrical issues remedied this awesome 205 GTI is ready to be thrashed on the backroads of your choice.
