In the world of WRC homologation specials the Pulsar GTI-R may not be the first car that springs to mind…but overlooking it would be a mistake.
Based on the Nissan Sunny (or Pulsar in Japan) hatchback, the GTI-R is a hot hatch unlike most with a 2.0 SR20DET engine, 4wd system, plus a whopping rear spoiler and an iconic bonnet bulge/scoop among other changes of the standard car.
This 1993 car is in excellent condition having covered 110,000 kms and has been very subtly modified over its 29 years. Most notably, the car wears a genuine set of freshly painted 17” Compomotive wheels with new tyres and sits on lowered springs all around (originals supplied with car).
Inside, a period correct Nardi steering wheel has been fitted along with a discreetly mounted turbo timer and some alloy pedals. Other than that, the car is in wonderful original condition and even retains its original radio.
The legendary SR20 engine puts out 227bhp as standard and will see the car hit 60mph in 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 144mph if you’re feeling brave! Coupled with the confidence from the 4wd system and beautiful handling the Pulsar GTI-R is a complete weapon.
This is a very well looked after example of a rare JDM homologation special in excellent condition throughout that will fit nicely into a collection or provide endless entertainment on your favourite backroad.
