Mazda RX-7 FD Spirit R Type A

JDM heroes don’t come much bigger than the Mazda RX-7 FD, and examples on Irish soil don’t come much better than this utterly stunning 2002 Spirit R Type A.

Finished in Titanium Grey and in truly exceptional condition with just 61k kms on the clock, this car would be adequately impressive if it was just your standard FD, but, being a coveted Spirit R Type A, it’s something really very special indeed.

1500 Spirit Rs were built to cap production of the FD RX-7 with 1000 of them being the ultra desirable Type A which is identifiable by being a 2-seater with Kevlar reinforced Recaro seats. This example is number 1458 making it one of the last 50 FDs ever produced.

Having been imported to the UK by Torque GT in 2015 (BIMTA Mileage Cert included), the car was then purchased by its 3^rd owner and imported to Ireland in 2019.

Featuring all of the best bits from the various FD special editions cars (forged BBS wheels, carbon fibre rear wing etc), and then some, this Spirit R has thankfully remained in largely standard format save for some reliability and sensible performance upgrades such as Apexi ECU with map for Irish fuel (carried out by Rotortorque), Racing Beat cat-back exhaust, Ohlins DFV coilovers and a short shifter.

The car has been meticulously maintained in every respect, too, and benefits from having been professionally corner-weighted and treated to a full recent ceramic coating with Titan Vulcan.

Supplied with 2 keys and its original Spirit R key fob, this is a near flawless example of one of the most sought after Mazdas ever produced.
