Fiat Tipo Sedicivalvole

With the Golf GTi dominating the hot hatch market in the early 90s, Fiat wanted in on the action and turned to Lancia for help with creating the Fiat Tipo Sedicivalvole – a name so exotic sounding that the car must be impressive, right?! Well, it was.

The Tipo was already an agile chassis which was further improved in the lowered Sedicivalvole, but the magic came from the 2.0 16v engine (originally found in the Lancia Thema and Delta Integrale) producing 144bhp and propelling the car from 0-60mph in 8.2 seconds and to a top speed of 130mph!

The Sedicivalvole also received cosmetic upgrades such as 15” wheels, side skirts and some other subtle styling improvements. Inside, there are sport seats and additional gauges in the centre of the dash to keep a close eye on the vitals.

This beautiful 1994 example with just 73,000kms was sourced in the south of Italy by the previous owner (a Fiat mechanic and collector) who looked after the car remarkably well. Following a complete refresh of all major mechanical items, the bonnet and roof were resprayed, and the wheels refurbished, too. Other than the steering wheel, K&N air filter and Ansa exhaust (which sounds utterly amazing!) the car is in completely original condition and is supplied with optional 3 spoke wheels and standard steering wheel.

This is a surprisingly impressive car that has practicality and Italian flare by the bucket load, and is an incredibly rare sight on the roads today. A better example would be hard to find.
