Originally designed for the domestic Italian market, the 208 is a Ferrari you’d be forgiven for knowing nothing about.
With its 1990cc V8 (one of the smallest V8s ever produced), the 208 dodged Italy’s high VAT rates on cars with an engine capacity over 2.0, but still delivered all the drama and sophistication.
This largely original late production GTS Turbo example from 1986 was the ultimate iteration of the model, however.
The exterior is essentially a 308 to the casual observer, albeit with one or two deviations, and the performance from the fuel injected turbocharged V8 was a huge improvement over earlier 208 models. The power delivery arguably makes the 208 GTS Turbo a more exciting proposition to drive over its other naturally aspirated bigger brothers, too.
As you would expect, the interior is typical of a Ferrari of this era – adorned in tan leather with minimalist switches and a that iconic gear gaiter.
The car is in stunning aesthetic and mechanical condition having covered just 61,000kms and is presented with two large binders full of history.
