For a car so firmly established as an American icon, it’s hard to believe that the first Viper was introduced only 32 years ago.
Featuring a complete redesign in all areas, this early production 2004 ZB1 example is in exceptional condition having covered just 24k miles in the last 20 years and is unusual in that it was supplied originally to the German market and, therefore, has a Kph speedometer and rear fog lights for European compliance.
Looking resplendent in its Viper Red paintwork with black wheels and signature black stripes, this Viper has incredible presence and little subtlety with its black side-exit exhausts and aggresive styling.
The black leather/alcantara interior feels just as fresh as the exterior and is very comfortable place to be. The most recent owner has upgraded the radio with a wireless CarPlay unit that is a welcome addition.
The real party piece of this Viper is its stonking 8.3 litre V10 engine, however, with a very healthy 500bhp and 525 lb⋅ft of torque that is both silky smooth and brutal all at once. The 6-speed manual gearbox is nicely balanced, too.
The car retains its original leather owner’s manual, original radio with SatNav DVD, a full up to date history file showing that the car has been meticulously maintained throughout its life.
A real rarity on Irish roads and a proper piece of automotive theatre.
Viewing strictly by appointment. All cars supplied with valid NCT where appropriate.
