The Type A series 2CV first appeared in 1949, with the Fourgonnette (van) model appearing in 1951 with great promise for French business owners owing to its peppy and efficient 600cc engine and light overall weight.
This 1976 2CV came to us as a recent trade-in and has genuinely stolen our hearts. The paintwork and interior are in completely original and, although not perfect, they hold a real patina and Charm. The paintwork has cracks, dings and slight fading in places but this van is incredibly solid after having a new chassis fitted in the past few years.
The rear loading area has been lined with insulation along with under the front mats while the seats are excellent with very little wear. All controls work as they should, too.
The driving experience is like nothing else on this earth with the the pitch and roll of the body generating countless laughs on your journey! The gearbox is smooth with no crunching and although she is only just over 30 bhp, this little van drives so so well.
Having just had a service with ourselves including points, plugs, coil and oil service, this 2CV drives beautifully.
If you’ve always fancied a unique classic van with bags of character, this charming 1976 2CV is a little gem. Whether it’s used a promotional vehicle or just to collect a baguette and croissants, this van is immense fun.
