Some cars you sell and forget about.
Others come back — and you’re glad they do.
This is a Porsche 944 S2 that we know very well, having sold it previously. And coming back to it now, it’s exactly what we remembered — a really up together, properly sorted car.
Finished in what is believed to be Dove blue metallic, it’s a colour that suits the S2 perfectly. Subtle, understated, and very period-correct. The bodywork presents extremely well, with a deep finish and clean, straight panels — exactly what you want to see on a car like this.
Inside, it’s trimmed in Linen leather, and again, the condition is excellent. These interiors can often suffer, but this one is clean, well-kept, and a very nice place to be. Everything feels solid, original, and correct.
Showing just over 100,000 miles, this is a car that’s been used properly — but more importantly, maintained properly.
In the past 18 months, it’s had significant investment in all the right areas:
* Timing belt and balance shaft belt service
* Chain in the cylinder head addressed
* Water pump replaced
* Major service carried out
* Clutch master and slave cylinders replaced
* New exhaust system fitted
* Brakes overhauled
* Sunroof mechanism fully rebuilt (motors removed, repaired, gearing sorted — a known weak point done properly)
This is exactly the sort of work these cars need — and it’s already been done.
We sell a lot of 944s and know them inside out. The difference between an average one and a good one is night and day — and this sits firmly in the good category. It starts on the button, drives tight, pulls strongly, and feels exactly how a sorted S2 should.
Back when new, Autocar described the 944 S2 as one of the best-balanced sports cars available, thanks to its transaxle layout and usable performance. That reputation still holds today — and in a car like this, you really feel it.
We’ll say it plainly — this is a very well-priced car in today’s market, especially considering the work done and the condition it’s in.
There are cheaper ones.
But they won’t be like this.
Condition. Maintenance. Usability.
