Presented for sale is a genuinely exceptional Peugeot 405 GRI, first registered in 1993, with only 30,600 miles from new. An automatic car with sun roof, electric windows, mirrors and even its original factory radio. A proper time warp car that presents extremely well and is a real credit to its previous owners.
The bodywork is excellent throughout, with only a very small amount of lacquer peel on the driver’s side front wing, which is minor and does little to detract from the overall appearance of the car. Underneath, the car is really, really good – clearly a car that’s been looked after properly and not subjected to the usual neglect these suffered later in life.
Mechanically, it’s spot on. The car has just been fully serviced, including timing belt and water pump, comes with a fresh NCT, and sits on four brand new tyres. It starts, drives, and performs exactly as it should – extremely comfortable and a really nice car to drive, just as Peugeot intended.
For a bit of context, the Peugeot 405 was European Car of the Year in 1988 and was widely praised for its ride comfort, reliability, and understated quality. The GRI sits nicely in the range, offering comfort and refinement rather than sportiness – and that’s exactly what makes it such a pleasant thing to own and drive today.
You almost never see these anymore. Most have long since disappeared, which makes this one highly unusual. With mileage this low and condition this strong, it must be one of the very best 405s still in existence.
It’s not the most exotic car in the world – but it is proper mint, proper nice, and increasingly hard to find in anything like this condition. A proper usable classic.
A rare opportunity to buy a true survivor.
Viewing strictly by appointment. All cars supplied with valid NCT where appropriate.
