Lotus Esprit Turbo HC

69,995.00

The 1987 model year saw the introduction of the incredibly sought after Esprit Turbo HC (High Compression) which was only available between October 1986 and July 1987 before being replaced by the revised 1988 model year ‘Peter Stevens’ Esprit.

This particular car was 1 of just 135 cars produced for this model year, including limited edition variants, and is by far the cleanest example of its kind that we have ever had the pleasure of seeing.

Presented in its stunning original combination of Monaco White with red leather and red velour is a completely original 40k mile car with 6 owners from new – with the original owner, Pat Herald, owning the car 3 times over a 17 year period!

The condition of the car is exemplary having always been stored inside and being maintained by Steve at SJ Sports who is a marque expert with Lotus Esprit. Notably, in one of his notes on assessment of the vehicle, he confirms that this car is one of the finest examples he has seen.

In the past 6 years the car has had major mechanical work carried out including a gearbox service, new clutch, steering rack, brake master cylinder, resealed roof, gear linkages, tyres and all perishable hoses. The car is mechanically excellent and performs faultlessly.

On the road it’s an absolutely awesome thing. The intake sound along with the Turbo chirp is intoxicating and the performance backs it up. A car that’s truly everything an 80s sports car should be.

This is an excellent example of what is fast becoming a rare and popular High Compression variation of the Giugiaro Esprit Turbo.

Viewing strictly by appointment. All cars supplied with valid NCT where appropriate.
